Dr. Gwozdz has been a board-certified otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat doctor) since 1989. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University Medical College in 1984, and she served her internship in surgery and residency in otolaryngology at University of Maryland Hospital. Dr. Gwozdz served as president and vice president of the South Carolina Society of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and as chief of surgery at Hilton Head Medical Center. She has staff appointments at the Outpatient Surgery Center of Hilton Head, Beaufort Memorial Hospital and Hilton Head Hospital.

Dr. Gwozdz is married, has three sons, and loves to run, hike, and ski. She is also a Beaufort County School Board Trustee and Chairman of the Board.
